Weekly Update

27 May 2013

Charity Drive

Coach Biso has requested donations of any old and/or previously worn soccer boots or clothing for a community football outreach programme. Any sizes are welcome and these can be handed in at the school office, to your child’s homeroom teacher or Coach Biso himself.

Art Project

The Art project for the next two weeks is based on Joseph Stella’s futuristic “Mixed Media Lines”. Children are required to have a 30cm ruler as well as a black fineliner or ball-point pen. Black koki-pens or felt-tip pens are also suitable.

Lunch Boxes

Many children are arriving at school with no packed lunch or snacks. Although, there is a tuck-shop facility at 12:00 at the Senior Campus, children are required to have a snack and something substantial to eat for first break which is at 9:45 till 10:00.

New Enrolments

We encourage current parents who wish to register additional children, particularly those interested in Grade 1, to do so urgently as space is filling up at a rapid rate.

Winter Uniform

Please contact Adri from Ruler Clothing for your child’s Courtney House winter shirts, beanies, jackets, scarves etc. Her e-mail address is rulerclothing@gmail.com

End of School Term

The second term ends on Friday 14 June at normal school time to start the winter holiday.

Students return to school on Tuesday 16 July.

20 May 2013

International Missing Children’s Day

Saturday, 25 May marks International Missing Children’s Day. The purpose of this day is to commemorate those missing children who have found their way back home, to remember those who were victims as well as acknowledge the continuous efforts to find those who have not been found yet.

Therefore, to support this, we ask that all children and students wear black, red and white or any combination of these colours to school on Friday, 24 May. A red and black ribbon can also be worn to show support for this cause.

Charity Drive

Thank you to all who contributed so generously with donations of foodstuff, blankets, clothes and toys for the poor. It is greatly appreciated by those less fortunate.

Senior Tour

Due to limited response for the Kwazulu-Natal Tour for students in Grade 7 to AS-Level, the tour has been cancelled. Any deposit payments already made shall be refunded.
